Catoctin Creek Distilling Company Exports Rabble Rouser Bottled In Bond Rye Whisky to the UK for the first time.

Catoctin Creek Distilling Company have announced the UK launch for their acclaimed Rabble Rouser® Bottled In Bond Rye Whisky.  This follows their official launch in the UK this January with their core product Roundstone Rye.

Distilled from 100% rye and bottled in bond, the Rabble Rouser differs from its cousin, Roundstone Rye, in that it is distilled at a lower proof, allowing lots of earthy goodness from the grain to come through in the spirit. The whisky is aged for four years, making it among the oldest craft whiskey in the United States presently, and twice the legal age requirement for “straight rye whiskey.”

“Where Roundstone Rye is sort of restrained and elegant,” say Scott Harris, founder of the distillery, “Rabble Rouser is more unruly and vivacious.”

rab•ble-rous•er

noun

a person who speaks with the intention of inflaming the emotions of a crowd of people, typically for political reasons.

synonyms: agitator, troublemaker, instigator

Rabble Rouser® is deep mahogany in colour with cherries and toasted marshmallows on the nose. The rye gives plenty of spice in flavour with notes of pepper and ash and caramel as well as some stone fruit, figs and some nuts. An underlying layer of heat reminds you are drinking a relatively high-proof rye.

Rabble Rouser was awarded 91 Points by The Wine Enthusiast last year: “The aroma is spicy and bright, with a hint of red fruit. The palate opens lean and lemony, tinged with vanilla, and spice. Adding water amplifies the flavor and teases out hints of espresso and clove.”

Catoctin Creek Distilling Company has made a name for itself as the first legal distillery in Loudoun County to open since Prohibition and respects their incredible history by using pre-Prohibition methods to create their award winning Rye whiskies.

The distillery is in Loudoun County, in the north of Virginia, where lush plains and meandering rivers work their way down rolling hills from snow-peaked mountains to Purcellville where Catoctin Creek Distilling Company sits on Main Street. This is the home to Virginia’s most-awarded whisky that embodies the very essence of the birthplace of American whisky in 1607.

Rabble Rouser has been distributed exclusively to retailers including: Native Spirits, Whisky Exchange, Master Of Malt and Southport Whisky. Importer Nathan Dawes of N10 Bourbons advises “we are really excited to have some of this excellent product available here in the UK for the very first time. Whoever manages to order a bottle from the retailers will undoubtedly find the product highly enjoyable”.
