Tea India has recently launched its latest offering into Waitrose across the UK – Turmeric Chai tea with a unique base of black Assam tea. Just in time for International Tea Day on 21st May 2020.
Turmeric Chai tea is not only famous for creating traditional golden milk, but also modern iterance’s such as the Turmeric Chai latte, or Turmeric Chai ice lollies.
As feelings of uncertainty and anxiety continue, moments of calm such as an ice lolly in the garden help us to relax. Turmeric is also famous for its immune-boosting properties and has long been used in Indian recipes and as part of Ayurvedic medicine.
Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has strong antioxidant properties essential for cell function with studies showing that diets rich in antioxidants may help lower risk of infections and disease.
Tea India’s Turmeric Chai offers a simple and delicious way to add more turmeric to the diet, a welcome addition to the pantry during these times of quarantine.
Turmeric Chai ice lollies:
Using one teabag per person, infuse in simmering milk – oat, cashew and coconut are recommended, simmer for 3 to 5 minutes and add honey to taste. Once mixture has cooled pour into ice lolly moulds and freeze.
