WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012. The 94,000 square foot Mesa, Arizona store is located at 1235 S. Power Road and will employ approximately 200 individuals.
WinCo Foods is employee owned and is known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each market where it operates. Store Manager, Wendy Holland, comes to Mesa with eighteen (18) years of experience with WinCo Foods. She has previously managed two stores for the company before transferring to Mesa from Bakersfield, California. Her two assistant managers Josh Arriaga and Al Romero transfer to Mesa from Hemet, California and Perris, California respectively. The entire management team is very enthusiastic about opening a new WinCo Foods store in Mesa. Ms. Holland says that the community seems very welcoming, friendly and receptive to store personnel who have transferred from other areas and she looks forward to working with the new employees hired locally from the over 10,700 who made application for employment. The entire WinCo Foods team is excited to serve the community with a large selection of grocery items and our low price approach to the market.
When customers enter the new store they’ll see a large “Wall of Values” featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items. Moving onto the main floor of the store, customers can select from a large fresh produce department; seafood and meat departments as well as deli, and bakery departments. The store also features a large and unique bulk foods department. The bulk foods area displays over 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies and more. We are excited for customers to come in and experience what makes WinCo Foods different, as our employee owners work hard to help everyone save money on their grocery purchases.
