BACARDÍ Rum today announces the launch of BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions, an upcoming series of livestreamed music events in collaboration with the iconic house and dance music label Defected Records. Hosted on Twitch, the livestreamed sessions are a first for the rum brand that continues its long-standing association with music.
BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions will be a five-part series livestreamed on Defected Records’ Twitch channel every Friday evening from 22nd October through to 19th November, including a bumper Halloween special. Curated by Defected, the stellar line-up will feature Defected’s very own Monki, Afro-house trailblazer Kitty Amor, Glitterbox’s Melvo Baptiste, underground favourite and Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton, house legend Spiller and Club Bad founder Melé.
BACARDÍ has enlisted the help of DJ, TV presenter and friend of BACARDÍ Maya Jama to introduce each session and artist with an informal chat. Streamed live from Defected’s recently launched, east- London headquarters, each BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions will see a different artist from each of the label’s imprints be interviewed by Maya about the sounds and tracks that move them and how they like to spice up a party before taking to the decks to play an epic 90-minute-long set.
Each session will be served as the ultimate party-starter,packed full of everything rum fans need to spice up their Friday evenings – spinetingling sets from incredible electronic artists, interviews with their favourite DJs and, of course, demos on how to make delicious BACARDÍ Spiced cocktails right from the comfort of their own living rooms. Serving as a backdrop for the series will be Defected’s newly launched HQ – kitted out with state-of-the-art technology for high quality recording, live streaming and content creation.

World class bartender La’Mel Clarke (of the esteemed London cocktail bar Lyaness) will be on hand to show Maya and Co. how to perfect a selection of BACARDÍ Spiced cocktails inspired by the artists’ sets. BACARDÍ Spiced is blended with natural spices for a bold, yet smooth taste – the ideal drink to enjoy in cocktails, or with a classic mixer like cola or ginger beer, while listening to the best dance music streamed directly to your home.
