Deliveroo is celebrating the return of their customers’ favourite big-name and local restaurants to their delivery platform. It means well-loved meals from KFC, Burger King, Wagamama and a host of others can once again be ordered online or via the Deliveroo app and delivered straight to your door, contact-free. Whilst the campaign doesn’t claim things have returned to normal, these are the glimmers of hope that normal isn’t too far away.
Created by Chime360, the 10” and 30” TV and VOD spots show a Deliveroo rider accompanied on his journey by a trail of animated social media posts that reveal their customers’ delight at getting the food they’ve been missing. The films are based in a widely-known truth: social media channels have been alive with people commenting on how much they miss their favourite takeaway foods, and the high-energy ads deliver some very welcome good news.
The films fit into Deliveroo’s wider #heretodeliver campaign that launched during lockdown to reinforce the brand’s role in potentially turbulent times.
Caroline Harris, Marketing Director UK, Deliveroo commented: “British customers have been vocal in expressing how much they’ve missed their favourite restaurants and takeaways. We wanted our campaign to pay tribute to their creative efforts on social media, and show our riders bringing some eagerly anticipated excitement back to their plates.”
Ross Neil, ECD, Chime360 added: “Though this campaign was filmed under lockdown restrictions, we wanted to create something with energy and optimism. Somehow the return of big-brand restaurants and local takeaway favourites to Deliveroo seems to go beyond just food: it’s a sign of things opening back up again.”
