Kallø, the natural food brand owned by Ecotone UK, is set to shake up the snacks category with its innovative new Veggie Cake Minis. Made from all natural ingredients, the new Veggie Cake Minis are a convenient on-the-go snack that not only taste great, but consumers can trust is good for them too!
Kallø’s light, crispy and delicious Veggie Cakes Minis come in two distinctive flavour offerings – Beetroot & Balsamic and Spinach & Pesto – blending a premium taste with a unique crunchy texture.
Made from lentil and peas, the plant-based snacks are high in natural plant proteins, low calorie, a great source of fibre, HFSS compliant, contain nothing artificial, are gluten-free and suitable for both vegan and vegetarian diets.
Retailing at £0.90p (RRP), the new Kallø Veggie Cakes Minis will be available for purchase from Tesco Express stores nationwide starting April 2022. Kallø is also looking to roll out the product to Health Food Trades in May. Both flavours, will be available in 22g x 12 single bags.
Kallø’s snacking range has been specifically designed in response to major trends at play in the snacking category. The first being consumer demand for healthier solutions and the positive health trend, with 53 per cent of shoppers looking for snacking formats which deliver on taste as well as nutrition. It also taps into the growing trend towards plant-based and alternative ingredients as consumer switch to more flexitarian diets.

The new format expands Kallø’s award-winning Veggie Cakes range, which was the biggest branded savoury biscuits launch in the last two years. Driving 60% incremental category growth with 30% repeat rate, Veggie Cakes are over indexing in consumers aged 28-54 who are trading up into premium. The new Veggie Cakes Minis range builds on this success, whilst offering a new format to help retailers drive new shoppers to on-the-go, front of store fixtures.
The launch also comes as part of Kallø’s mission to prove that healthy food doesn’t have to be dull by offering consumers a range of products that are vibrant, colourful and full of flavour – using only carefully selected, honest ingredients to create something extraordinary.
