This Spring ‘Oakley’ was crowned the winner of the nationwide hunt to find ‘the real Peamutt’ – now his face will replace the cartoon mascot on limited-edition jars.
A Liverpool border collie is to appear on more than 50,000 jars of Peamutt Butter nationwide after winning a competition to be the new face of the top-selling dog treat.

Winning pooch ‘Oakley’ will feature on the UK’s favourite 340g Peamutt Butter jars for a limited time only this autumn, with the first run to be hitting shelves from the end of September.
Available across pet stores, supermarkets and online shops, one-year-old Oakley from Speke, Liverpool will grace the jar with his “cheeky winning smile.”
Selected from more than 200 dogs from across the UK, the Peamutt Butter super fan was shortlisted in the Northwest category before being crowned the winner at the end of March.
The leading Manchester-based dog treat company was looking for a “Peamutt-a-like”, but most importantly a dog with a mischievous demeanour, to be the face of their brand.
Noticed by head celebrity judge Dr Scott Miller for his cheeky smile, the panel decided Oakley embraced the spirit of Peamutt as he enjoys being a bit nutty – getting muddy, digging holes and having lots of cuddles.
Joining This Morning’s Dr Scott Miller on the panel of dog lovers and experts were Manchester-based dog trainer Janey Baker from Make Fetch Happen and Peamutt Butter’s MD Richard Duerr.

Oakley’s owner, Linda Rose said: “I was so proud to see Oakley was shortlisted but then to find out he had won I just couldn’t believe it! It has been really good fun being the brand ambassador so far, from sampling Peamutt Squeezy exclusively before the launch and attending Dogfest, to posing up a storm at the brand photoshoot – he’s in his element, a real star.
“We can’t wait to see his face on the Peamutt Butter jars as they appear in the shops, he’s going to be famous – everyone we know is heading out to get one while stocks last!”
As well as appearing on the jars, the winner’s prize included a celebratory professional photo shoot, tickets to DogFest, a year’s supply of Peamutt Butter products and a £250 donation to Oakley’s favourite charity ‘Carla Lane Animals in Need’.
When asked what’s next for her winning pooch, Linda added: “I think Oakley won over the judges because he has a happy smile and mischievous personality. He’s turned out to be quite the natural in front of the camera, so perhaps he has a career in modelling or acting is ahead of him. For now, we will enjoy building his profile on Instagram and attending dog training.”
Richard Duerr, from Peamutt Butter, said: “We have had such an exciting response to the competition and found it very difficult to pick a winner as all the dogs were brilliant and have great stories. It has been wonderful to welcome Oakley into our family, working with him on our recent Peamutt Squeezy launch and now seeing his face on pack.”

The Oakley jars will be sold in Independent stores, Pets at Home, Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA, The Range, Amazon and Jollyes priced from around £2.50 (Subject to availability.)
Alongside Oakley’s Peamutt Butter debut, the snack company has recently added Peamutt Squeezy to its range, available exclusively in Pets at Home. Oakley appeared in the social media marketing campaign across the Summer.
