Today, the innovative sustainable wrapper-free snack brand, One Good Thing (OGT), which launched in August 2023, welcomes on board Stephen Hann as Chief Commercial Officer.
Hann brings to OGT a wealth of experience, having spent five years at Graze where he helped to scale retail to become the businesses largest channel ahead of its sale to Unilever in 2019. In 2021, he joined Tails.com as Retail Director, once again helping the brand scale its presence in supermarket retail.
Earlier this month, sales rocketed for OGT after videos showcasing the clever wrapper-free bars went viral on TikTok. One creator video posted to the brand’s TikTok channel racked up 4.8M views in just 5 days, with many fans commenting to say they’d purchased a box of the beeswax-coated snack and protein bars to try at home.
This year, the brand is set to accelerate its growth once again, investing £1m in media and marketing and with plans to expand into supermarket retail.
OGT bars are made from only raw cold-pressed, low-carbon ingredients and coated with a completely edible, 100% natural film, made from a mix of beeswax and other natural ingredients. The clever coating dries hard enough to hold and protect the contents but is thin and soft enough to chew easily. The edible coating acts as a replacement to a traditional plastic or paper wrapper. Each bar is durable, completely waterproof and won’t disintegrate when wet.
Kieran Stanbridge, CEO of OGT added: “It’s incredible to have Stephen join the OGT team. His experience in fast-growth consumer brands and retail expansion is going to be invaluable in helping to drive the growth we’re looking to achieve this year. He is the first of several new hires for 2024, as we look to expand the team and with it, our expertise and industry knowledge.”
Stephen Hann, CCO of OGT added: “OGT is truly shaking up the snacking category and is leading the charge in terms of packaging innovation and shifting consumer perceptions around what’s possible.”
