Selfridges Birmingham is giving Midland producers the opportunity to get their food and drink produce stocked in its famous Foodhall alongside some of the world’s biggest-selling brands.
As part of a store-wide campaign to champion fantastic foodstuffs grown and made in the region, Selfridges has launched an exclusive ‘Your Food, Our Foodhall’ event, inviting local producers to showcase their wares in front of a panel of Selfridges buyers from the store’s London head office.
The event, which is a first for Selfridges, will see successful applicants’ products hit the shelves this July to coincide with Selfridges Celebration of Food, which sees Selfridges Foodhall and Wineshop take centre stage in the store for a two-month period.
Whether it’s a store-cupboard staple, a stand-out spirit, or the next fresh food hero, Selfridges Birmingham wants to hear from producers in the region across all areas of food and drink.
Those hoping to hit the big time and become a Foodhall favourite will need to fill out a simple questionnaire detailing their company and products here by 25th March. Producers will then be selected to meet and pitch to Selfridges buyers at the head office in the Bullring store on April 9th.
Vicki Cain, general manager at Selfridges Birmingham, said: “Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region is a hotbed for talented foodies and the volume of independents and start-ups demonstrate the truly entrepreneurial spirit of the area.
“Farmers markets and street food stalls are very popular at the moment and we know that there are many great producers currently showcasing their products on these circuits. Our ‘Your Food, Our Foodhall’ event will give them the chance to elevate their fantastic foodstuffs to reach an even larger audience and who knows – their product could be the next best-selling item on the whole of Level 1!”
