Calling all hungry students! Pot Noodle launches virtual careers fair

Pot Noodle, the UK’s biggest supplier of mini-meals[2], is back again with their mission to get students excited about their future by championing unconventional careers.

Whilst physical career fairs are not currently a possibility, Pot Noodle has partnered with Gradbay, a marketplace which connects students and graduates with businesses, to host a number of virtual careers fair for a month launching from 19 May 2020.

Building on the brand’s support for students across the country and tying into their ‘Cook Less. Live More’ campaign, the activity sets out to help students realise their career goals, no matter how unusual they may be. Students will be able to learn more about ten alternative internships through a virtual, augmented reality careers fair, which they can access on their mobiles and desktops. Whilst universities remain closed and students are studying at home, this provides the perfect opportunity from them to think about their futures whilst many other aspects of their lives are on hold.

Pot Noodle’s purpose campaign #CookLessLiveMore wants young people to try out alternative internships that will stir up their futures and try a career that aligns with their passions. Some of the out-of-the-box positions available include Social Broadcaster and Operations (for online radio), eSports Growth Associate and Artificial Intelligence Sports Researcher.

Andre Burger, VP Foods and Refreshments UK&I, Unilever comments: We know it’s all too easy to go with the flow and follow a conventional career path after finishing university. With the current climate, students have much more time on their hands to explore alternative possibilities. Here at Pot Noodle, we want to showcase the range of careers available and encourage students to find the path that is right for them by championing the unconventional and inspiring students to try out more unusual roles. From online radio broadcasting to becoming our Chief Noodle Insights Officer… the opportunities are endless and we’re here to give the younger generation the kick start they need.”

Since 2017, Pot Noodle has toured over 20 campuses across the UK, reaching over three million 16-24-year-olds via social media amplification. Working alongside national student agency, Raptor to create the virtual careers fair and Adam&Eve DDB, the creative agency behind the overall Cook Less. Live More campaign, Pot Noodle is helping to get more students into jobs that they are passionate about. Building on this ongoing support, this virtual careers fair this May is the biggest activation for the brand to date, with additional companies offering internships and more universities partners.

Pot Noodle and GradBay will be paying for each student’s first month of work. All roles, whether desk based or outside of an office environment will be managed in accordance with the government’s most up-to-date lockdown guidelines.
