Jenny Wren Chocolate Unveils New Christmas Offering

Seasonal Box Follows Exclusive Palmer & Harvey Listing

Jenny Wren, the Kentish chocolate firm, has introduced its first-ever Christmas box for what it calls the ‘neglected’ sub-£10 gifting category.

Based on its unique three-layered folding format, the ‘Christmas Collection’ features twelve delicious hand-finished Belgian chocolates and truffles – including Fleur de Sel caramel, raspberry yoghurt and white mocha.

The launch coincides with Jenny Wren being the only independent chocolate to feature in Palmer & Harvey’s Christmas catalogue. P&H, the UK’s largest delivered wholesaler (and the country’s fifth largest private firm), sends the catalogue to a database of over 90,000 outlets.

Jenny Wren was set up in July 2016 by ex-Boots, Kimberly Clark and ABF buyer and brand manager Mike Stainfield. It launched with three box variants (milk, dark and mixed chocolate), following up five months later with a range of 100g bars. The company’s success so far has seen it collect over 400 independent stockists across the UK.

With over 25m Brits buying chocolates as a gift at Christmas* and a third of them spending more on chocolate with upmarket packaging when buying a gift**, the company’s anticipating a significant seasonal sales uplift.

Mike Stainfield, MD of Jenny Wren, said:  “We all know that giving and sharing chocolates at Christmas is a huge opportunity – but mid-range is poorly served and that’s where we slot in. We make the only chocolate gift boxes that you can buy for under £10.00 and still get a ‘wow!’ from the recipient. Add in some quality Belgian chocolates – and given the success of our existing gift box – and we’ve no doubt that this will prove a big hit at Christmas.”
