Bermondsey Village Harvest is almost upon us. On 6th November 2013, some of London’s best chefs will come together to offer a three course meal, with all profits going to Magic Breakfast Foundation.
Hosted by Tanner & Co on Bermondsey Street, the dinner takes place at 7.30 pm and tickets are just £35 per head. A collaboration between Toby Stuart (exec chef The Garrison/Village East), Jose Pizarro (of Jose and Pizarro), Nick Crispini (Antico), and Justin Saunders (Tanner & Co), the meal will be served family style.
Guests can expect starters from Tanner & Co, including home cured air dried Cumbrian beef, smoked ham, pig’s head terrine, pork liver pate with chutney, toast & pickles, warm houmous with coriander crumble, pea, broad bean and minted yoghurt, and bubble and squeak croquettes, with confit celeriac and squash with truffled goats curd dressing.
Mains from Village East & The Garrison include venison welling wellington, creamed celeriac, pickled cabbage, green peppercorn sauce. Antico is providing wild Girole mushroom risotto, and desserts come from the Jose Pizarro’s kitchens.
Magic Breakfast delivers free, healthy breakfast foods to UK primary schools with more than 40% free school meals.
Why? Because in each one of those schools, children start the day too hungry to learn. A hungry child is often unable to concentrate in class. The good news is that Magic Breakfast provides a healthy breakfast to 8,000 children each morning, as essential fuel for learning.
This improves child attendance, punctuality, concentration and behaviour. All for just 22p a day.
