The choice of yogurts can be overwhelming for consumers, so the editors of Real Simple Magazine took it upon themselves to find the “cream of the crop.” They tasted more than 100 yogurts and in the May issue revealed their top picks “from Greek to goat.” The results are in and Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery is elated to share the news that both of its yogurt brands received “best of” accolades. In the “Traditional” category, Redwood Hill Farm was named head of the herd as “Best Goat Milk Yogurt.” Its sister brand, Green Valley Organics received “Best Lactose Free Yogurt” honors.

About Green Valley Organics, the editors commented: “Other lactose-free options (think soy or almond-based) fell short next to this pick made from lactose-free cow’s milk. The creamy texture and the light vanilla flavor are as close to the real thing as it gets.” In their notes about what set Redwood Hill Farm goat milk yogurt apart from the competition, the editors noted: “some experts suggest that goat’s milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk. Real Simple editors found this tangy but less musky than others cow’s milk alternatives.”
Green Valley Organics lactose free yogurt and Redwood Hill Farm goat milk yogurt are available at Whole Foods Market and other grocery, specialty and natural food retailers nationwide. In addition to yogurt, the Green Valley Organics line includes kefir and sour cream. Redwood Hill Farm also makes goat milk kefir and an assortment of fine artisan goat cheeses.
