With healthy eating at the heart of its NPD, Roberts bakery has launched four products with added health and wellbeing benefits in Tesco stores – two new Good for You Bloomers, the Ultimate Fibre Wholemeal and its Vit Hit 50% Wholemeal, 50% White loaf.
And, with a timely focus on vitamins, minerals and other nutritious ingredients – many of which are brand new to UK bread aisles – Roberts has gone all out to create a range of loaves to help build up and boost the body’s natural defences at a time when we need it most.
Even better, all four are vegan-friendly, high in fibre and low in fat. They’re also wrapped in sustainably sourced paper packaging that’s easily recyclable at home.
Roberts’ Energy Balance Good for You Bloomer has been created using oatmeal and a mighty mixture of quinoa, watermelon and chia seeds. It’s packed with magnesium to support a healthy metabolism and is available exclusively at Tesco.
The True Vitality Good for You Bloomer is full of super-foodie ingredients, including whole hemp seeds, brown rice flour, malted wheat flakes and zinc for a healthy immune system. It’s also available exclusively at Tesco.
Robert’s Vit Hit 50% Wholemeal, 50% White loaf is delicious combination of half white flour, half wholemeal flour with the addition of seven vitamins and minerals for extra everyday goodness. These include Thiamine B1, Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, calcium, iron, niacin and folic acid. It’s available in all major supermarkets and convenience stores across the UK.
Roberts has also introduced its Ultimate Fibre Wholemeal – a more wholesome take on the bakery’s original wholemeal classic – and, at 8.7g fibre per 100g, is the brand’s highest fibre wholemeal loaf to date, packing, on average, 30% more punch than other wholemeal products. It’s replaced Roberts’ family classic wholemeal loaf.
Alison Ordonez, Innovation Director at Roberts bakery, said: “We know that shoppers are increasingly interested in the nutritional and functional health benefits in bread and it’s never been more important as we think again about the importance of diet in protecting ourselves and our families, and strengthening our natural defences against infection and disease.”
“Made using seeds, minerals, fibres, proteins and wholegrains, our new range makes use of so many ingredients that support better health and wellbeing. By making simple delicious swaps, everyone can eat easily add more variety and more of the right things to their daily diets.”
Both Roberts’ Bloomers have an RRP of £1.55 each. Vit Hit 50% Wholemeal, 50% White and Ultimate Fibre have an RRP of £1.15.
Roberts’ Heathy Hits Bundle – which includes three of the new loaves as well as four wholemeal rolls and six Brown Sandwich Lites – is available directly from Roberts’ new e-shop and is delivered to the door overnight via DPD. In Manchester and Leeds, the bundle is available for delivery via Uber Eats.
