Burger King restaurants are launching the Halloween Whopper sandwich, a burger unlike any other in the UK, with a black bun. While the pitch-black bun gives the Halloween Whopper sandwich a look that may make some think “hmmmmm?” the burger’s classic Whopper flavours will have tasters saying “mmmmm.”
Inspired by the Burger King brand’s Black Burger in Japan, which created buzz worldwide, the Halloween Whopper sandwich has a look that is curious to the eye, whilst still tasting like the familiar Whopper that Burger King guest’s know and love.
The BBQ flavour is baked into the bread, giving it a tangy bite, with a natural colourant added to give the bun its dark black colour. Layered between the buns is a flame-grilled beef patty, topped with melted American cheese, BBQ sauce, ripe tomatoes, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions.
“The introduction of the black burger in Japan created a lot of excitement for Burger King fans, with many people in the UK interested in trying the burger,” said Matthew Bresnahan, Marketing Director, Northern Europe, Middle East, & Africa. “We love creating new and innovative experiences for our guests and we felt that Halloween was the perfect occasion to satisfy this demand!”
For a delicious accompanying drink, Burger King has also launched the Pumpkin Spice Latte – a sumptuous, creamy coffee that provides the perfect accompaniment to the Halloween Whopper sandwich.
This scarily good burger and menu line up will be available for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide in the UK until 31st October 2015 for the recommended retail price of £4.29. The Pumpkin Spice Latte is available at £1.69 for a regular or £1.99 for a large.
