SmileyWorld continues its roll out of unique experiential activations for 2018, with the launch of a Smiley concept pop-up café in the middle of Hong Kong’s iconic Langham Place shopping centre in Mong Kok.
The cafe concept, which recently launched at a VIP event full of industry leaders, included Smiley CEO Nicolas Loufrani, who was there to officially open the new boutique and café concept.
The deal, which was brokered by Smiley’s APAC partner Walton Brown, formed part of the launch of eGG Opticals new store in the shopping centre and featured a Smiley Café experience.
To compliment the launch a range of Smiley themed activities also featured; including Smiley phone case and accessory customisation station, and a unique pancake printing area, where customers photos could be turned into tasty edible pancakes.
Alongside the range of Smiley themed food, was a full range of Smiley home and kitchenware products to create a themed consumer activation, as Smiley chefs whipped up a range of delicious food. The Smiley eGG Cafe is planned to run all the way through until June 2019.
Smiley CEO Nicolas Loufrani commented “Food is one of the growth areas of our business today and it’s great that Walton Brown have helped to bring our café concept to life in one of Hong Kong’s leading destination retail environments. It also gives us a unique opportunity to showcase our home and kitchen concepts and licensees products, which is another area for growth for 2018. I’m really grateful for the work of Steve Wong and all the team at Walton Brown for making this happen and very pleased to have been here to see it for myself.”
