Tyrrells Goes Nuts With A New Range Design From This Way Up

Since the multi award-winning brand Tyrrells launched in 2001, it’s taken the premium snacking sector by storm, not only in the UK but across Europe and beyond.

Famed for its quirky and eccentric English brand personality, Tyrrells has achieved great success with their Hand Cooked Potato & Vegetable crisps as well as their popcorn range. .

Snacking habits are continuing to rise – 66% of adults are snacking at least once a day (Mintel Consumer Snacking Report 2019) – and with consumers increasingly on the hunt for healthy alternatives, Tyrrells has turned its expert hand to nuts.

In response to consumers’ evolving needs, Tyrrells is launching its ‘Nut Medley’ range – a delicious mix of the finest natural ingredients including roasted almonds, cashews, crunchy giant corn and fava beans, all carefully combined and lightly seasoned for a typically flavour-packed premium Tyrrells snack experience.

Inspired by nuts being the perfect snack for any occasion, and Tyrrells inherent playful nature, brand packaging design consultancy, This Way Up, introduces Edwin & Phylis to the pack design – characters who wholly personify Tyrrells quintessentially British, and rather quirky positioning. The range is designed to encourage a sense of fun, highlighting the naturally derived ingredients as the standout hero on pack.

“Tyrrells is a brand that’s all about bringing joy, personality and outstanding product quality to the snacking category.” Said Myles Jackson, Account Director, This Way Up. “The introduction of the Nut Medley range enables them to further flex their premium, and natural credentials. The visual identity creates invaluable stand-out within an ever-expanding category, whilst also encouraging Tyrrells loyal customers to try something new.”

Dan Winslet, Global Tyrrells Marketing Controller at KP Snacks says: “Our new Nut Medley range is designed to celebrate Tyrrells quality and premium credentials, while meeting a consumer need. Nut Mixes span multiple occasions.  Enjoyment moments in the afternoon/evening are relatively under-developed in Mixes which accounts for 64% of occasions. Our new and delicious nut flavours will drive sustainable value growth and deliver something new and different to shoppers”.

The new range comes in a handy resealable packet, which not only encourages responsible snacking, enabling portion control  but also helps combat food waste. The packaging is also recyclable thanks to Tyrells partnership with TerraCycle.

Tyrells Nut Medley range is available instore from February 2020.
