Wessanen UK donates NHS food care packages

The natural food company is helping to feed NHS staff and vulnerable people

B-Corp certified, natural food company, Wessanen UK, is working with Fareshare UK and NHS Trusts to donate over £70,000 worth of healthy food and drink from its leading brands; Clipper Teas, Kallo, Whole Earth and Mrs Crimble’s.

Through long-standing food redistribution partner, Fareshare, Wessanen UK has donated to 13 areas across the UK including London, Brighton, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow to help alleviate food poverty and support the most vulnerable.

Ongoing donations are also being made to five NHS Trusts nationwide and Wessanen UK’s employees have recently sent over 70 special food care boxes to friends and family working on the frontline for the NHS. Offering support to other areas affected by the crisis, Wessanen UK also donated stock to an animal sanctuary in Kent.

Furthermore, the purpose-driven business is offering employees the opportunity to take a few hours out of work to volunteer for the NHS – assisting in delivering food parcels, transporting elderly people to and from the hospital and offering phone support to vulnerable people in isolation.

Emma Vass, CEO at Wessanen UK, said:

“I am immensely proud of our key workers in production at Wessanen UK who are working incredibly hard to keep the country fed and supermarkets well stocked. We wanted to go the extra mile to support the most vulnerable and keep our NHS key workers well-nourished in these challenging times. Now more than ever, it’s important that we eat healthily and keep well.”
