Wilson Daniels, one of the industry’s leading wine marketers and importers, announced its exclusive partnership with Presqu’ile Winery.
Presqu’ile is currently being launched into targeted markets in phases throughout 2013. The Santa Maria winery joins Wilson Daniels ‘ distinctive portfolio with some of the most compelling hand-crafted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in California.
For over a century, four generations of the Murphy family have partnered in farming, forestry, oil and gas and conservation. Today, two generations of Murphys form the heart of Presqu’ile: Matt, Amanda, Jonathan, Anna, Lindsey, Madison and Suzanne, together with winemaker Dieter Cronje and vineyard manager Jim Stollberg .
Presqu’ile, creole for “almost an island,” is named in honor of the Murphy’s beloved family gathering place located on the Gulf Coast that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
With a strong sense of family, and a passion for wines of character and quality, the Murphys, with certainty, selected the Santa Maria Valley location for their modern, gravity-fed winery.
The unique soil, climate and terrain, along with a minimalistic approach to wine making all contribute to the ideal environment for crafting world-class wines.
“Because of Wilson Daniels ‘ reputation, their existing portfolio, and Jack Daniels’ return to the helm; we believe this is a synergistic partnership primed for long term success,” Matt Murphy states.
“The personal interest and commitment that Jack Daniels and his team have extended to our family, and our winery, is incomparable,” adds Madison Murphy .
“Our vision and focus is to continue to represent first-class Pinot Noir producers domestically and abroad. We believe Presqu’ile Winery produces some of the finest Pinot Noir we’ve tasted from California,” Jack Daniels said. “The tremendous potential for success is exciting; our shared philosophies lay the perfect foundation for a meaningful, long-lasting relationship.”
