‘SMITHS’ of Smithfield has opened its new Cannon Street restaurant and bar to the public on 21st November. Bookings are already being taken for the 200 cover bar and restaurant, while event planners are being encouraged to enquire about exclusive hire of this exciting new venue.
To celebrate the launch of the new restaurant and bar, ‘SMITHS’ at Cannon Street held a VIP party for over 250 local businesses, media and friends, with attendees enjoying a drinks reception and canapés including gin cured peppercorn salmon and rare breed mini burgers, tomato relish, Monterey Jack cheese.
Situated opposite Cannon Street Station in the Walbrook Building, the venue has been designed by award-winning architects The Manser Practice, with a contemporary look and feel at the heart of the all-day destination.
As much a place for business breakfasts for the many local blue chip and FTSE companies as for post-work drinks, private celebrations and intimate dinners, ‘SMITHS’ at Cannon Street has been carefully designed to offer something to everyone.
Customers will recognise the unbeatable taste of British cuts from its counterpart, ‘SMITHS’ of Smithfield, located in Farringdon’s world famous Meat Market.
Diners can choose from British classics with a ‘SMITHS’ twist overseen by head chef Henry Omereye, which is complemented by an extensive wine list chosen by one of the world’s masters of wine, David Gleave, as well as a special cocktail menu; ideal for after work drinks.
The food will be complemented by a comprehensive and carefully chosen wine list by one of the world’s masters of wine, David Gleave, who ensures each wine is sustainably produced and full of character. The bar will also feature a selected range of craft beers from local and international brewers.
Colin Clarke, managing director of ‘SMITHS’ of Smithfield, comments: “When choosing this location for our new venture we were determined to create an intimate dining space that complements the area and local demographic. Our philosophy to deliver simple food made from the finest ingredients and served in a friendly way will add another dimension to the City’s thriving food and drink scene.”
