Award-winning peanut butter brand ManiLife is set to expand its popular portfolio of peanut butters and snacks by unveiling a brand new range of sustainably sourced,  small batch almond butters for the very first time. ManiLife Almond Butter, available in both smooth and crunchy, will be available from 5th February at Tesco stores nationwide. It will also be sold via the ManiLife website.

Pioneering a new way of production, the boundary pushing brand has worked with independently owned farms in Portugal to harvest the almonds for its latest SKUs. Sourcing from Portugal not only means a third of the land and sea miles but innovative farming methods means Portuguese almonds use 23% less water than their Californian counterparts that dominate the global and UK market.

Years spent in pursuit of the finest Almonds have therefore not only delivered exceptional taste credentials but, ManiLife believe it will also be the most sustainable Almond Butter in the UK.

Mintel reports that shoppers are on the lookout for more sustainable products, with four in five shoppers intentionally choosing products with a sustainability claim.

Stu Macdonald, founder of ManiLife comments: “We spent years tasting countless varieties of Almonds from all over the world so it was a genuine joy that the tastiest Almonds we could find also happened to be grown by a lovely family right on our doorstep in Portugal! We don’t like to market off of sustainability but the carbon footprint saving you’ll have eating ManiLIfe vs a typical Californian origin Almond Butter will be monumental. Most importantly however, the taste is truly exceptional and we cannot wait to share it with the masses!”
