Coors Light Launches Search & Rescue Mission to Save Canadians From an Average Summer

Coors Light is setting out on a mission to help save Canadians from an average summer, by launching Search+Rescue, a month-long challenge to find hidden prizes with the help of an online treasure map and Twitter.

From now through July 31 Canadians of legal drinking age can enter their location here to find one of 880 Search+Rescue boxes hidden across the country. Inside each box is a summer defining experience like racecar driving, rafting trips, access to exclusive Coors Light parties, or one of a wide variety of prizes such as wakeboarding gear or gift cards.

When an unclaimed prize is located the finder must follow @coorslightCA and tweet a picture of him or herself with the box along with the unique box code and #searchandrescue. Coors Light will then direct message them a question, which he or she must answer to unlock the box.

“Coors Light is all about helping Canadians seize the day so that they can get the most out of life by embracing the unexpected,” says Karl Bonar, Senior Marketing Manager, Molson Coors Canada. “Search+Rescue helps our fans get more out of summer with surprise experiences and prizes that turn average into awesome and the uneventful into the unforgettable.”

For a chance to win one of the Search+Rescue boxes Canadians can visit www.searchandrescue.ca and enter their location. Locations of unclaimed prizes appear as red pins on the map, while locations where prizes have already been claimed appear as grey pins.

Box locations reflect a variety of urban and non-urban markets to give fans across the country a chance to win. Coors Light Search+Rescue runs for the month of July or until all of the boxes are found, whichever comes first, with a deadline of August 31 to claim prizes.
