KFC & the Robin Collective Unveil Edible Coffee Cups Made of Chocolate

KFC-Cup_71111111In a very edible celebration of the launch of Seattle’s Best Coffee in its outlets, KFC has developed a range of fully functioning coffee cups made from biscuit and temperature resistant chocolate.

The ‘Scoff-ee Cup’ is made from biscuit, wrapped in sugar paper and lined with a layer of heat resistant white chocolate, which is slowly melted by the coffee after it is served.

The product, created by food scientists, the Robin Collective, has also been infused with slow-release flavour to alter the coffee’s taste.

Brandy Wight of the Robin Collective said: “Not only do the edible cups taste amazing, but they smell delicious too. We’ve infused different cups with a variety of ambient aromas including Coconut Sun Cream, Fresh Cut Grass and Wild Flowers.”

KFC brand manager Jocelyn Bynoe added: “We have been experimenting with edible packaging to see fi it could be a feasible product to bring to the market in limited quantities and thought that if our customers occasionally like to have their cake and eat it, why wouldn’t they want to have their cup and eat it instead?”

The Scoff-ee Cup remains a work in progress and has yet to be launched to customers.
