Bombay Bramble, a new creative expression from Bombay Sapphire, recently launched in full ruby red splendour with an identity and bottle design crafted by drinks specialists Knockout.
Bombay Bramble blends Bombay’s vapour distilled London Dry Gin with a rich fruit infusion made from freshly harvested blackberries and raspberries. This is a more complex and time-consuming process that allows the natural ingredients to shine, making Bombay Bramble easy to mix and perfect for cocktail experimentation.
Flavour is one of the key factors in the increasing popularity of gin, which has experienced simply staggering growth over the past few years. Pink gins lead this surge with Instagram-ready colours and sweeter flavours giving them broad appeal. Bombay Bramble, however, answers this rising demand with a significantly more refined, sophisticated spirit. All that was needed was an identity that was a cut above.
With elegance and a touch of grandeur, Bombay Bramble captivates with every detail. A berry bramble etched in rose-gold connotes the flavour profile and creates a delicate frame that shines on front of pack. Clear labels are used to celebrate the gin’s ruby rich colour and add a jewel-like quality that is not entirely unfamiliar to the portfolio. The final touch is a deep red cap off-set by the scarlet ink on the neck label – a two-tone duality that signifies the delicious blend of blackberry and raspberry.
“We were tasked to effectively create a new sub-brand, adding new dimension to the Bombay portfolio with a flavoured gin that challenges all things pink,” comments Dominic Burke, founder at Knockout. “The design solution puts a twist on the existing architecture, reflecting Bombay Sapphire’s renowned expertise whilst conveying the new proposition with a bit of intrigue and allure.”
Knockout also supported in the creation of a limited artist edition as part of the Bombay Bramble Ripe For Discovery campaign. Transforming the bottle into a canvas, the design features the work of three up-and-coming British creators – fine artist Alfie Kungu, print artist and painter Charlotte McDonald and printmaker Rose Electra Harris. Available exclusively at Selfridges, consumers will be able to personalise the bottle label for the perfect gift.
“Bombay Bramble satisfies consumers desire for flavoured gins whilst allowing us to true to our own exacting standards of quality and craft,” comments Adam Heims, Global Brand Director, Bombay Sapphire at Bacardi. “Knockout’s design tells this story in beautiful detail, elevating Bombay Bramble above the crowd with finesse.”
