A research symposium in China, supported by Nestlé, will examine how specific nutrients might be used to address cardiovascular disease.
The event, organised by the Nestlé Research Centre in Beijing and the Chinese Society of Cardiology, will bring international experts together to discuss how focused nutrition research could help to tackle problems like high cholesterol in the blood.
Studies due to be presented on October 12 include those looking at the role of certain food ingredients and compounds in lowering blood lipids and blood pressure.
Other subjects include how dietary modification can play a role in cardiovascular and metabolic disease prevention and how maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help reduce risk factors for diseases such as high blood pressure and high blood sugar.
