Pepsi Max And Tomorrowland Launch Second Year Of ‘The Sound Of Tomorrow’ Search With Fedde Le Grand

#TheSoundOfTomorrow  Fire up your decks and start work on your headlining mix as Pepsi MAX and Tomorrowland call on amateur DJs and producers to join the search for ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’.

This year, the competition will be coming direct to homes as it is livestreamed through some of the biggest electronic music channels in the world. As Tomorrowland and many other live music events across the world are unable to take place this year, upcoming DJ talent needs a platform more than ever. With worldwide DJs bringing joy to their fans by streaming music into people’s homes, The Sound of Tomorrow will help provide a spotlight for DJs with small audiences but big talent.

Stepping up to mentor and guide the entrants for a second year, world-renowned Dutch DJ and producer Fedde Le Grand is continuing his commitment to fostering new talent. He will be sharing exclusive tips and tricks from the decks to guide and inspire entry mixes from aspiring DJs.

Last year’s competition saw DJ Empra from Bochum, Germany crowned The Sound of Tomorrow. Taking part in the competition has helped Empra’s DJ career go from strength to strength, from performing at Tomorrowland to releasing two tracks on Fedde Le Grand’s own label, Darklight Recordings.

Entries can now be submitted via TheSoundOfTomorrow.com until midnight on 10 June. Fedde and a team of industry experts will then shortlist and announce those progressing to the final stages.

The competition will culminate as Pepsi MAX and Tomorrowland come together to present an incredible live stream on Tomorrowland channels on July 7, where talent from across Europe will mix it out to be crowned The Sound of Tomorrow. Music lovers everywhere will be able to watch the performances, vote for their favourite DJ and see amazing sets from Fedde and other special to-be-announced guests.

The ultimate winner will perform a DJ set at Tomorrowland 2021 and will release a remix on Fedde Le Grand’s label, Darklight Records.

Fedde Le Grand, legendary Dutch DJ and music producer, said, “Ensuring the DJs and producers of tomorrow have the opportunity to share their talent with the world is a real passion for me. When I founded Darklight Recordings, it was my mission to provide a platform for not only my own releases but for upcoming talent.

Collaborating with Tomorrowland and Pepsi MAX last year to identify The Sound of Tomorrow was an amazing experience – so much so that we’re joining forces once again to identify the hottest new talent in EDM. I’m looking forward to hearing what this year’s contestants will bring to the table in this ever-changing landscape – all while giving them an opportunity to shine during tough times for live music.”

Cathy Graham, Senior Director, Marketing & Innovation at PepsiCo West Europe Beverages said, “The Sound of Tomorrow search last year was an incredible opportunity to provide a launch pad for DJs across Europe. Pepsi MAX has music at its heart and this year, perhaps more than any other, it is important that we continue the legacy of The Sound of tomorrow in partnership with Tomorrowland.

We’re proud to come together with Tomorrowland once again to discover and showcase the next generation of DJs, with a must-see live stream event viewable across Europe and beyond. We can’t wait to see the incredible talent again this year, and to join them back on the festival field when it is right to do so.”
