The Japanese are known for their quirky products, and a restaurant in Tokyo, Zenyaren, has come up with a bizarre dish—meat skewers frozen in blocks of gelatin collagen.
Diners have to lick the frozen collagen to get at the meat—this dish is served as the Japanese believe that eating collagen will reverse the effects of aging.
However, the British Skin Foundation has debunked this and states that eating collagen does not help revitalize skin. Perhaps this dish may be a placebo after all.
