This festive season, Family (and friends) have committed ourselves to ‘random acts of chocolate’. As we announced earlier in December, working with Shelter’s retail team, we’ve developed the packaging for Shelter’s Emergency Chocolate bars, which cost £5 and come in five delicious flavours, making them an ideal stocking filler for the whole family. All proceeds go directly towards assisting those that find themselves homeless, are at risk of losing their home or are suffering from poor living conditions.
The chocolate in the bars is sourced directly from our very own friends Seed & Bean, one of the most ethical and delicious chocolate brands in the country. As some of you may know, we’ve been working with S&B for many years and it was thanks to them that we were approached by Shelter to develop the packaging, they are a truly fantastic brand that are a breath of fresh air in the confectionary segment and we’re looking forward to many more years of friendship.
As a gift to our local Richmond Food bank, we’ve donated 100 packs of Emergency Chocolate, hopefully adding a sweet treat to somebody’s Christmas or New Year’s celebrations while ensuring that Shelter also get the financial assistance they need to help those struggling with finding safe housing.
Although food banks are not a new concept, the current cost of living crisis has meant that many more people need help with food, clothes and gifts this festive period. So even if it’s a couple of tins from the back of the cupboard you won’t use, or that unopened bag of penne, every little helps! Go and find your nearest food bank and donate today if you can.
