Birds Eye gave people across the UK the chance to celebrate and indulge in the classic fish finger sandwich by running hundreds of Birds Eye #FishFingerSandwich house parties.
In a first of its kind for the frozen food sector, Birds Eye has partnered with mass influencer marketing agency Come Round, to run 200 Birds Eye Fish Finger Sandwich parties all across the UK on 14 and 15 June involving more than 2000 partygoers.
Each of the 200 hand-picked party hosts received a free Fish Finger Sandwich party pack brimming with everything they needed to turn their parties into a fish finger sandwich extravaganza – including branded balloons, serviettes, cocktail stick flags, oven gloves, fridge magnets, egg timers and copies of the Fish Finger Sandwich Book. Plus of course each carefully selected party host received 60 Birds Eye cod fish fingers. A true celebration of the legend that is the Fish Finger Sandwich.
Adding even more to the party packs were Unilever, funkin’and Warburtons, all of whom provided product to help hosts on their way to making the perfect fish finger sandwich. Unilever supplied partygoers with Hellmann’s mayonnaise, Hellmann’s ketchup, Colman’s tartare sauce or Colman’s BBQ sauce; funkin’ supplied 100% natural cocktail mixers in Brazilian, Mojito and Strawberry Daiquiri flavours; Warburtons supplied each party with 10 Warburtons Thins.
Partygoers were incentivised to submit photos of their parties lured by the prizes they can win for Best Group Photo and Best #FishFingerSandwich photo. The latter competition ties in with Birds Eye’s TV campaign encouraging the nation to share their fish finger sandwiches using the #FishFingerSandwich hashtag. Partygoers all proudly sticked their Birds Eye cocktail stick flags into their creations. Following the parties, Come Round collated valuable consumer insight from each of the 2000 partygoers.

Parties took place all across the UK on 14 and 15 June. With England’s World Cup first match taking place on the evening of 14 June, most parties were in full swing as England kicked off their World Cup campaign. No matter how England fare in the World Cup, Birds Eye have given thousands of people a reason to party.
