The Cuba Mountain Coffee Company (CMC), the company behind the new ethically and sustainably farmed and artisan-roasted Alma de Cuba gourmet coffee brand will be launching an entry-level mini 225gm pack available at £7 from their e-commerce site (wholesale £4.50).
A steady increase in production of top-end coffee from the island and the growing close relationship between Cuba and CMC, has enabled the company to add the mini-pack to its growing product offering.
In addition, April will see the launch of Alma de Cuba’s new lower cost Espresso/Cafecito roast aimed at both foodservice and the retail sector.
Cafecito is Cuban for a ‘traditional strong, sweet espresso’. Boasting an intensely bright but balanced lingering finish, the new Alma de Cuba roast is darker to reflect demand from coffee shops, restaurants and hotels using espresso machines, as well as consumers.
The higher roast Alma de Cuba will be available in 1 kilo foodservice packs at £14 retail (£10 wholesale), as well as in the new 225gm pack at £5 retail (£3 wholesale) – the 225gm pack comes in whole bean or a fine grind for espresso machines.
Alma de Cuba MD and former Tory Treasury Minister, Phillip Oppenheim says: “Having launched the brand less than six months ago, we are thrilled that Alma de Cuba has generated lots of attention and interest whilst helping to drive the supply of top quality Cuban coffee. Gourmet coffee is rapidly growing globally and Cuba has an appeal all of its own, so we have a product and strategy very much in tune with the times.”
All Alma de Cuba coffees are available for worldwide delivery online or wholesale to selected outlets globally.
