Arby’s Apologies To Pepsi For Forgetting To Include Them In Its Ads

Fast food chain Arby’s has launched an apology ad to Pepsi owning up to its mistake.

The steakhouse had a deal with Pepsi to feature the soft drink in two commercials annually. But the second spot was forgotten, and creative for the year was wrapped up when Pepsi dropped a friendly reminder to Arby’s.

So Arby’s approached Minneapolis-based ad agency Fallon to help produce an ad dedicated to Pepsi that is brilliantly simple and amusing.

The 30-second-long spot features a close-up of a pint of Pepsi, with a voiceover by actor Ving Rhames. The ad will be aired from 7 December to 13 December in Minneapolis, New York and Los Angeles.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the chief marketing officer for PepsiCo’s food service division, Roberto Rios, said in an email, “We applaud Arby’s unconventional approach to marketing and when they came to us with this idea, we thought it would be a fun, creative way to highlight our partnership.”
