Hendrick’s Gin (which is itself infused with cucumber) has, for the past three months, been traveling across the United States with its eye-popping, wondrously strange cucumber slicing device with the sole purpose of offering the most beautifully garnished Hendrick’s Gin cocktails ever to grace a glass.
Hendrick’s Ambassador Mark Stoddard proudly announces that since June, The Hendrick’s Grand Garnisher has traveled more than 10,050 miles, visited 10 cities, and sliced upwards of 893 cucumbers for the proper garnishment of more than 2,000 Hendrick’s Gin cocktails.
“This is the most inefficient, yet spectacular, garnishing device in all of the land,” Stoddard says of the 38-foot device, powered by a hybrid diesel motor, interlocking gears, 1800s steam engine and a talented penny farthing rider. “Our Grand Garnisher achieves road speeds of up to 25 mph and slices 18 cucumbers per hour, thanks to our well-dressed gentleman furiously pedaling his way across the States!”
The Hendrick’s Grand Garnisher has thus far graced the presence of iconic landmarks including the New York Skyline, Chicago Skyline, Hollywood Sign, Golden Gate Bridge, and the famed Superdome in New Orleans. It will continue for the next 80 days and will make stops in another 11 cities including San Diego, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa; FL; Miami, FL; wrapping up in Washington, D.C.
