This year’s Transform Awards Asia Pacific was held recently in Hong Kong. Transform awards recognize the best practice in global brand development work, with categories that focus on strategy, execution and business impact.
J. Walter Thompson Vietnam’s “Wear Yourself” campaign for Suntory PepsiCo’s bottled water brand Aquafina won a gold award for “Best Creative Strategy.” The campaign put a street twist to the long-running Aquafina Pure Fashion platform by using ordinary youngsters instead of models and introducing an online fashion boutique where users could discover their fashion personalities and trade dressing tips.
The agency’s “Say You Do” campaign for KITKAT won a silver award for “Best Audio Branding,” with its makeover of the Vietnamese chart-topper, “Say You Do.” Run over Valentine’s, the campaign invited suitors to create an “unrejectable” gift online – a KITKAT bar that would be used by the recipients to unlock a customized music video of the song made specially for them. J. Walter Thompson Vietnam was the only agency from this fast-growing emerging market to win an award at the Transform Asia Pacific show this year.
