Martini Celebrates 150th Anniversary

Martini_150_wallPost_v3Martini is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations this summer, the Martini Royale Terrazza will be at the Coronation Festival, taking place 11th – 14th July.

This marks an historic year for both Her Majesty The Queen and the world famous Martini brand.

Currently the No. 1 spirit brand in Europe by volume, Martini will be continuing its association with ‘exceptional drinks’ and ‘stylish living’ by targeting both new and existing Martini buyers with a variety of serves at the Coronation Festival, whilst they learn about the brand’s heritage.

In 2012, Martini paid tribute to Her Majesty The Queen with the creation of a new serve, the Martini Royale, to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee year and toast one Royal with a Royale.

This year, Martini will be serving the Martini Royale in the Gardens of Buckingham Palace during the Coronation Festival as well as showcasing a range of serves to an expected 60,000 guests, so they can discover new ways to enjoy Martini.

The Martini Royale is a 50/50 mix of two Italian icons, Martini Bianco vermouth (or Martini Rosato vermouth) mixed with Martini Prosecco, and is aimed at consumers looking for a stylish, longer and more refreshing serve.

martini-royale-biancoThe Martini Royale Bianco is a combination of sweet vanilla and citrus notes with a floral aroma, served over ice with a squeeze of lime and sprig of mint and topped with Martini Prosecco.

The Italian brand will also be taking the opportunity to remind people of some of the simple ways of drinking Martini.

Guests at the Coronation Festival will be able to enjoy classic serves including Martini Bianco and soda, Martini Rosato and soda, Martini Extra Dry and lemonade and Martini Rosso and tonic.

Fans of the brand will also have the opportunity to purchase special gift packs containing limited edition Martini 150th anniversary bottles and glassware from the Martini Royale Terrazza at the Coronation Festival, so they can enjoy these classic serves at home.

Martini is proud to be part of a small selection of brands to hold a Royal Warrant, which was bestowed in 1962 by Her Majesty The Queen.

The words ‘By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen’ and the Royal Coat of Arms even appear on all Martini vermouth bottles.

Furthermore, Martini is privileged to be one of a select few non-British brands to hold a Royal Warrant and is the sole vermouth supplier to The Royal Household.

John Grieveson, UK marketing director at Bacardi-Martini, said:

“We are proud to begin the celebrations in the beautiful Gardens of Buckingham Palace – the perfect setting to toast Her Majesty The Queen – and it gives us the chance to remind people how delicious and refreshing Martini is. As part of this summer of celebration, we’d encourage all outlets to add Coronation-themed cocktails to their menus, including serves like the Martini Royale.”
