Luxury cake shop and continental café, Patisserie Valerie, have launched a new whole gateau and individual slice which was designed by a customer.
Branded the ‘Madame Valerie Gateau’, the new cake layers chocolate sponge and caramel cream and honeycomb pieces and is topped with white chocolate and salted caramel truffles and decorated with chocolate cigarettes.
Designed by Katie Bignell from Bristol, the new cake was the winning design from the Madame Valerie Gateau Inventor competition Patisserie Valerie ran in conjunction with Superbreak last year.
The new gateau, which is priced at £32.95, is a limited edition gateau which can be ordered online via the Patisserie Valerie website for collection or delivery, or customers can try the new individual slice version in stores across the United Kingdom. The new products will be available until the end of April 2017.
Patisserie Valerie have launched the new gateau to coincide with their new marketing campaign, which looks at the heritage and history of Madame Valerie and the brand.
Paul May, CEO of Patisserie Valerie, comments “The new gateau and slice that we have added to our range is a very exciting time for the brand, and is the first time we have ever added something that was designed by a customer. This is just the start of Patisserie Valerie trialling new products and ranges and we hope to do this more often in the future. I can assure you that it is absolutely delicious and well worth trying!”
Patisserie Valerie was first opened in Frith Street in London’s Soho in 1926 by Belgian born Madame Valerie. She came to London on a mission to introduce fine continental patisserie to the English, Patisserie Valerie is now a nationwide brand known as a haven for self-indulgence.
