Online food ordering platform, hungryhouse, has launched its ‘Love Takeaway, Actually’ campaign, to reward several of the nation’s most deserving Christmas heroes.
The public were invited to nominate their loved ones and the three winning entries were treated to £100 worth of takeaway and a festive doorstep surprise inspired by the popular Christmas Rom-Com, Love Actually, with their special someone re-enacting the iconic moment Mark arrives on the doorstep of Keira Knightley’s character, Juliet.
This follows the innovative ‘reality-TV style’ advertising campaign which hungryhouse announced in September and builds on its new ‘Love Takeaway’ tagline, part of a new customer focussed direction for the brand.
A nurse, Beth Stoyles, 26, from Rotherham, who will be working throughout Christmas, along with 250,000 other Doctors, nurses and carers, was nominated by her boyfriend Oliver Yonchev, 27. He felt she deserved to be rewarded for her generosity as she spends so much of her time caring for others.
Commenting on her Love Takeaway, Actually moment, Beth said: “I’m working all over Christmas like I usually do, so to get a surprise like this was really special. I couldn’t believe it when I saw Oliver at my front door clutching giant white cards with a camera crew behind him, so I got a huge shock! But it was worth it when I tucked into the delicious takeaway he brought me.”
Also in the winning trio was Eva Jasiulaniec, 33 who lives in Redhill, Surrey who was nominated by her best friend Lorena Williamson as she isn’t able to go home to Poland for Christmas. Lastly, Tony Elliott nominated his wife Tracy, aged 46, from Manchester, who suffers from ME and as a result, finds the seasonal period especially demanding.
Alice Mrongovius, CEO at hungryhouse.co.uk, said: “Sadly, Christmas can be a difficult time for some people, so we wanted to help make it a little bit easier by treating people who really deserve it. Whether it’s being separated from loved ones, working or suffering from ill health, Love Takeaway, Actually was designed to share little surprises and treats with true British heroes this Christmas.”
