Ian Macleod Distillers, owner of Edinburgh Gin, has secured a new listing with Tesco which will see Edinburgh Gin’s Raspberry Liqueur and Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur hit the shelves of Tesco across the UK.
Building on Edinburgh Gin’s existing relationship with Tesco, the supermarket chain is the first to stock both liqueurs UK wide. The two gin-based fruit liqueurs will be available in around 500 Tesco stores across the UK from March 2017.
Joining classic Edinburgh Gin, the popular range of gin-based fruit liqueurs of Raspberry 50cl (ABV 20%) and Rhubarb & Ginger 50cl (ABV 20%) offers shoppers a wider and more exciting choice of liqueurs in the drinks aisle, reflecting the growth and popularity of Scottish gin brands.
Gin sales in the UK continue to grow and in 2016, bubbled over the £1bn mark for the first time in the UK. Edinburgh Gin continues to be at the forefront of the ‘gin renaissance’ and is continuing to expand its offering in the UK gin market.
Neil Boyd, Commercial Director for Ian Macleod Distillers, owners of Edinburgh Gin, said: “As the portfolio of Edinburgh Gin has expanded, we have worked to secure new listings with UK wide retailers and are excited to announce our newest listing with Tesco. Our range of gin-based fruit liqueurs are incredibly popular with consumers who are looking for something a bit different from your average gin & tonic. The liqueurs add a touch of elegance to sparkling wines and a variety of cocktails.”
Kristin Traynor, Liqueurs Buyer at Tesco comments: “We are excited to be expanding our liqueur range in line with the growing trend around gin and gin flavoured products. I’m sure the Edinburgh Gin Fruit Liqueurs will be popular with our customers, and we’re pleased to be able to offer more of our customers a chance to taste these excellent products.”
