Heineken announced their second installment of the brand’s “Friends + Family” (#HKNFF) program – a seasonal, multi-city tour highlighting cultural events with local tastemakers in New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., Houston and Philadelphia.
The 2014 “Friends + Family” series hosts will include: creative director and designer, Va$htie Kola (New York); Revolt Marketing executive, Kenny Burns (D.C.); RCA recording artist, Marsha Ambrosius (Philadelphia); designer duo Dee & Ricky (New York); stylist, Ugo Mozie (Houston); creative director of streetwear boutique, WISH, Frank Cooke (Atlanta); blogger Allen Onyia (Houston); Grand Hustle CEO Jason Geter (Atlanta); and lifestyle boutique Sir & Madame (Chicago). Additional hosts will be announced throughout the year.
The first 2014 “Friends + Family” event will commence on June 13th in Philadelphia.
“Heineken is thrilled to bring back the ‘Friends + Family’ program for another successful year,” said Pattie Falch, Brand Director, Heineken Sponsorships. “These events allow our influencers and consumers from across the country to come together in an organic way, to engage with the Heineken brand in their hometowns.”
Each local influencer who hosts a “Friends + Family” event will be inviting a curated list of attendees from their personal network, in addition to in-market promotion via their social media networks for consumers that are 21+ only to rsvp for the series. This year’s series will consist of summer barbecues, loft events featuring the work of photographer Mel D. Cole, and intimate dinners during the holiday season. Each event will take place at a W Hotel property.
Providing the soundtrack for this year’s event series, Heineken will bring back DJ Clark Kent, who spun for each event of the inaugural 2013 “Friends + Family” program. In addition, for this year’s series Heineken will add legendary DJ D-Nice to the roster.
“This is the second year I have worked with Heineken for ‘Friends + Family’,” said DJ Clark Kent. “It’s always great to meet people from across the nation that move the culture forward in their hometowns.”
“I am thankful for this opportunity that Heineken has provided me through this program,” said DJ D-Nice. “This is a cool opportunity to make memorable moments through music in intimate settings across the country. I can’t ask for anything better from a brand.”
Additionally, Heineken has created signature, custom Heineken-branded New Era snapbacks that will be gifted to patrons at each event.
