Liberation Nuts ‘Mixes It Up’ For Christmas At Oxfam

Liberation Foods, the UK’s first Fairtrade and farmer owned Nut Company, is launching its first seasonal range of snacks into 252 Oxfam shops nationwide from 21st October 2013.

LibFood1Following the successful launch of two new product lines during the summer, coupled with a recent refreshed brand identity, Liberation’s two new winter snacking products include: Fairtrade Mixed Nuts with Dried Fruit and Fairtrade Mixed Nuts.

All nuts are sourced from co-operatives of small-scale growers and farmers who own a 44 percent share of the company.

Kate Gaskell, Managing Director of Liberation Foods explains, “Oxfam was very keen to work with us and introduce our brand as part of its retail high street offering. Oxfam’s ethos is all about helping others to overcome poverty and suffering and Liberation is about giving smallholder LibFood2farmers around the world a fair deal and a fair price for their produce, making the partnership a great match.”

“This is the first time Liberation Foods has dipped its toes into seasonal lines and we are delighted to be partnering with Oxfam to kick things off. Fairtrade and snacking nuts are categories that remain in strong growth and there is a lot of consumer demand for quality nuts that not only taste great but are also helping support the livelihoods of farmers in poorer parts of the world,” added Kate.

Liberation Foods has also created two brand new own-label Christmas nut products exclusively for Sainsbury’s. The Christmas by Sainsbury’s snacks are: Roasted Fairtrade Mixed Nuts (250g) and Roasted Fairtrade Cashew Nuts (250g) and both vegan friendly.
