Packaging that invites kids to play: Little Dish x Derek&Eric x Doodle Boy

In collaboration with illustrator Joe Whale, also known as Doodle Boy, we’ve reimagined Little Dish’s latest pack as a blank canvas designed to be doodled on, coloured in, and completely transformed by kids themselves. It’s packaging that doesn’t just sit on shelf, but invites interaction the moment it’s picked up.

The idea is simple. Hand over creative control to the audience. By stripping things back and leaving space for imagination, the pack becomes part product, part activity, and part self expression.

To bring it to life beyond the shelf, Little Dish is also running a competition where kids can submit their creations for the chance to win a range of doodle inspired prizes, extending the experience into something shareable and participatory.

It’s a small shift, but one that reframes packaging as a creative platform rather than just a container.
