Rigid box specialist Pollard Group has created distinctive presentation boxes for two whiskies from Pulteney Distillery, one of the most northerly distilleries on the Scottish mainland.
Both Old Pulteney 25-Year-Old Single Malt and Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage Single Malt (for the travel retail sector) are packed in boxes which feature a wood-effect finish, reflecting the quality of the oaks in which the whiskies are aged to produce their individual flavour, aroma and colour.
The wood grain look is achieved through the use of spot gloss UV varnish on the finished boxes. To distinguish the two vintages, each box features a different paper for the exterior and lid liner – Colorplan Bitter Chocolate with a Stucco Emboss for the 25-Year-Old and Wibalin Dark Brown with a Fine Linen Emboss for the 1990. This gives the 1990 Vintage box an overall lighter appearance.
Both boxes use Corvon Metal X, New Gold, Weave for the internal elements with a block shoulder that ensures the bottle fits exactly into the box for effective protection and presentation. The hinged lid incorporates a magnetic closure, with background notes on the Pulteney Distillery printed onto a Colorplan Mist 350g card on the inside.
The boxes are printed UV offset litho, white and process black, with fluted gold foil for the Old Pulteney branding, company information and tasting notes.
Pollard hope the eye-catching wood grain finish delivers maximum on-shelf differentiation and the robust design and high-quality construction reflects the high quality of the whiskies while also ensuring they reach the consumer in premium condition.
