On-demand delivery service Postmates revamped its app and introduced a service dedicated entirely to delivering groceries within in it.
The updated Android and iOS app shows users the best restaurants around them upon opening the app, and the new Explore section adapts to the user’s location and time of day.
Meanwhile, Postmates has launched its first-ever grocery product called ‘Fresh’.
Postmates already offered grocery runs for people but, with its new product, it has partnered with local partners to provide an average delivery time of 30 minutes. Through these partnerships, Postmates is able to offer curated lists of locally-sourced groceries via its updated app.
The grocery service has been launched in Manhattan, New York; Los Angeles, California; and San Francisco, California. Postmates has partnered with East Village Farm in Manhattan, Urban Radish in LA and Farmstead in San Francisco.
“For Postmates, we’re committed to partnering with direct-to-consumer grocers who have the highest-quality products,” said Postmates in a blog post. “Whenever we can, we’ll also choose those partners who source from organic farms?—?making on-demand farm-to-table a possibility for our customers in NY, SF, LA?—?and many more markets to come.”
