Carling has teamed up with football legends Paul Ince and Jimmy Bullard to spoof an iconic scene from The Godfather, in celebration of their forthcoming summer promotion, Pay Per Inch.
To give football fans the most enjoyable way to experience the match at home with your mates this summer, they are offering fans the opportunity to get their hands on high-quality TVs simply for the price of its screen size.
To bring this to life, Carling has recruited England football legend Paul Ince, famously known as the Guv’nor, to put on his best tux to play the lead role, as the owner of a TV warehouse. Ince, (or should that be Inch), is joined by fellow East London football hero, Jimmy Bullard, who tries his best to persuade the Guv’nor to part with the TVs for the low price being offered by the promotion.
This is the first time the two former players have acted on screen and they relished their parts, particularly as they could banter around their careers – from Jimmy’s I’m a Celeb appearance to Ince’s managerial foray. Unmissable moments include Jimmy kissing The Guv’nor’s ring and Ince’s excellent accent skills.
Paul Ince (The Guv’Nor) comments: “I’ve never acted before so I’ve had a bit of a laugh with this and having my mate Jimmy there really helped. My nickname is something that has been talked about a lot in my career, so it was good to have a bit of fun with it for Carling and their summer promotion.”
Jimmy Bullard comments: “Paul and I had a right laugh on set and hope the video makes others laugh too. I hate missing out on the action when I’m at home, so I was buzzing to work with Carling to show that every inch matters when watching the big games this summer – and these TVs will definitely impress your mates!”
From June 5th every Sunday for the next 5 weeks, with a final competition on the 6th July, fans will be able to get their hands on TVs at a ridiculously reduced rate. It will be a #GameofInches as those that hold their nerve will be rewarded with the biggest screens – starting from 40”.
