From Orot to Bucrana, the wine from an extreme land shaped by Moruba.

This project redefines a winery brand from Spain’s Toro region, moving beyond conventional codes toward a more strategic and meaningful positioning. Built around the concept of “Extreme Land”, the identity reflects a territory where climate and soil are not just a backdrop, but active forces that define the character of the wine.

BUCRANA, the new name, draws from an ancient term that evokes strength, ritual, and heritage. It feels almost carved in stone, connecting past and present through a sense of permanence and raw materiality. The naming establishes a tone that speaks of endurance, authenticity, and origin, avoiding predictable wine industry clichés.

The visual language translates this duality into form. A custom typeface with sharp, horn-like details subtly references the bull, a powerful symbol of the region, while textured surfaces inspired by stone reinforce a tactile connection to the land. The identity system is built on contrasts: rain and drought, heat and cold, fragility and strength.

Rather than following generic category conventions, BUCRANA adopts a bold and distinctive voice. Under the claim “Bold Wines”, the brand conveys both the resilience required to produce wine in extreme conditions and the mindset of a consumer seeking intensity and authenticity.

The result is a contemporary identity deeply rooted in its origin, balancing respect for terroir with a clear and compelling strategic narrative.
