Pepsi’s New Vending Machine Tests Your Football Skills

Be it an empty soda can, a plastic bag or even a rock – if we see one lying on the footpath most of us instinctively try to expertly side foot it to the bottom corner of the imaginary goal in front of us.

But thanks to Pepsi, we can now do it without the awkward looks from passers by, whilst also scooping a tasty drink at the same time.

The beverage giants wanted to tap into the inner football star in us with their new keepy-uppy machines, which are being introduced around the world just in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

We’re all familiar with the classic coin in, beverage out system operated by vending machines, but if you want your drink here – you’ve got to earn it.

Instead of cash, users must perform a certain amount of keepy-uppies using an imaginary ball in front of a motion sensitive screen in order to get the drink.

Advanced players can win special prizes if they enter the game’s ‘Hall of Fame’ mode, although Pepsi are yet to confirm what these are.

Around 20 machines are being released for starters, in locations across America and Europe.
