Daniel Sturridge Welcomes FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola to UK

England and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge proudly welcomed the FIFA World Cup Trophy to London on March 14, as the world’s largest FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca‑Cola rolled into Great Britain.

AM_FIFA_HOUSESturridge, who is in top form for both club and country as he heads towards his first FIFA World Cup, came face-to-face with the solid gold FIFA World Cup Trophy on its arrival in London. The Trophy is taking an unprecedented trip around the world spanning nearly 100,000 miles –- visiting 90 countries in 6 continents as part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca‑Cola.

Sturridge not only greeted assembled media and VIP guests at the custom-built FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca‑Cola House in London, he also challenged them to compete in a 
Coca‑Cola interactive football challenge; a live activation where participants raced a 3D projection of the footballer in a timed dribbling contest. The challenge is part of Coca‑Cola’s wider commitment to active lifestyles and Movement is Happiness campaign which encourages active healthy lifestyles through physical activity.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy, which can only be touched by previous winners or Heads of State, is in the UK for seven days before moving on to the Netherlands.

Coca‑Cola are offering fans opportunities to get up close to the FIFA World Cup Trophy whilst it is travelling across the nation; the Trophy will be visiting Westfield W12 shopping centre in London on Friday 14th March from 10:00 until 21:00; George Square in Glasgow on Saturday 15th March from 10:30 until 18:30; and The Hayes in Cardiff on Sunday 16th March from 10:30 until 18:30. Fans who visit the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca‑Cola will have the unique opportunity to have their photograph taken with the Trophy and enjoy a host of fun, football festivities.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy is in GB until the 18th March before moving on to the Netherlands. The Trophy’s first stop in Great Britain was to Southend yesterday to surprise and delight participants of a Southend branch of sports charity StreetGames.
