Desperados Creates a House Party that Leaves No Mess Behind

Desperados reached new levels of wild experimentation once again by throwing the ultimate house party… one with no clean-up!

By covering the entire inside of the house, the party became a blank canvas that gave partygoers the freedom to unleash their creativity throughout the space without having the host worry about the mess.

Partnering with sustainable design studio Gomi, the material that covered the house will be reshaped into speakers for Desperados fans to keep on partying.

This is the second event in a yearlong series of acts where Desperados looks to consumers to ignite the party spirit by collecting their ideas and bringing the most epic ones to life.

The house party was imagined by DJ, producer and label owner Pretty Pink from Leipzig, Germany, who was fed up with letting thoughts of the post-party clean-up take over a fun night with friends.

Pretty Pink said: “I love playing music for my friends and hosting parties, but I worry about the mess, which then impacts the vibe. So, the idea for the party that left no mess came from feeling restricted at my own house parties. Desperados allowed me to let go and live in the moment, and I was actually able to DJ throughout the night and encourage people to throw paint everywhere!”

Desperados protected the walls and furniture and put the party experiment to the test, giving partygoers free rein with the paint so they could get as experimental and creative as possible in a house party environment.

As guests danced around the house, they were spurred to go wild with party props such as DIY paint refill stations, glow in the dark items and balloons filled with paint waiting to be popped.

By reinventing the very idea of a house party and removing the worst part of hosting, the clean-up, Desperados remixed the rules in a city renowned for its parties.

This act is the second of ‘Epic Parties Imagined by You’, a wild experiment by which Desperados is creating a series of co-created parties culminating in the first crowdsourced party imagined by partygoers worldwide, YourFest

The co-created series of events helps Desperados ignite the party spirit through wild experimentation by uncovering what people want from festivals and house parties, as well as the journey to the party, bars and clubs. Consumers can share their party ideas on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #WeAreTheParty.

Diederik Vos, Global Brand Director and chief party curator, Desperados, commented, “Born out of wild experimentation, we have a bold mindset which led us to push the boundaries when dreaming up our latest series of acts. Our goal was to ignite the party spirit with creativity and experimentation, but we wanted to give partygoers around the world the opportunity to shape their own party adventures. This led us to co-create a series of epic parties and festivals imagined by partygoers.”

This party is the latest act from Desperados and WE ARE Pi, following a series of unique acts in music and partying. Techno and house aficionado Seth Troxler created an exclusive track for the party series.

Previous Desperados activations within Inner Tequila Studios include: Deep House, the world’s deepest dance floor with Peggy Gou;  Sound Stage: Watt The Frequency, a global DIY mobile sound system performance with KiNK; SkyFest, a hot air balloon electronic light orchestra; Train Trax, an ordinary train wired into a music instrument; Bass Drop, a party onboard a plane at zero gravity, 30,000ft above the Nevada desert; and House Party Plugged, which saw an ordinary house transformed into a backing track.
