Parker Williams, brand design experts, have created the packaging design for Rachel’s Organic first lactose free yogurt. Available in strawberry and natural, these products are the first lactose free yogurts to come from the Rachel’s Organic brand and will be on shelf in the UK from October.
With one in five Britons claiming to suffer from a food intolerance, the market for “free-from” food is a growing one, indeed it grew 30% from 2015 to 2016, to £531m, and Mintel forecasts it will hit £673m by 2020.
The design follows a long line of packaging designs created by Parker Williams for Rachel’s.
Jo Saker, Creative Director from Parker Williams explains: “This is a product first for Rachel’s and it was important for the brand to have a strong and ownable presence within the category. We wanted to visually communicate to consumers that this is still the Rachel’s organic yogurt they know and love; rich, creamy yogurt, great fruit ingredients and lactose free.”
More than a quarter of people (27%) say they avoid particular ingredients as part of a healthier lifestyle, while one in five (19%) avoid them because of an allergy or intolerance, Mintel research says.
Daniel Wheeler, Marketing Manager, Lactalis Nestle Chilled Dairy said: “We knew we could trust Parker Williams to design this incredibly important launch product. This is a new and growing market opportunity for us and we required a strong packaging presence in a growing sector. Parker Williams’ work hit this brief.”
The 450g big pot yogurts will hit the chilled dairy aisle from the 16th October with a RRP of £1.89.
