To refresh the traditional Pepsi glass bottle design to make it more relevant for today’s market without losing its classic appeal, PepsiCo teamed up with glass maker O-I New Product Development and Innovation to literally give it a twist.
The result of the partnership is the strikingly asymmetrical “Twist” bottle that is “able to withstand internal carbonation and vertical load requirements”—the screw-like design is also made to stand out from its competition on the product shelf.
According to its creators, this unique bottle aims to evoke nostalgia in older consumers while appearing cool to younger buyers.
