Jacob’s Creek, one of the best known, award-wining wine brands is releasing a new premium sparkling drink in a ready to serve format; Aperitivo Spritz. The latest addition to the category taps into the popularity of bitter orange aperitifs as well as consumer demand for light and fresh ‘spritz’ offerings that are simple to serve and refreshing to drink.
Rolling out from June 2018, Jacob’s Creek Aperitivo Spritz provides consumers with a convenient and delicious sparkling drink with a twist. The refreshing sparkling wine-based drink has a vibrant flavour profile of zesty blood oranges and carefully selected botanicals, such as cinchona and liquorish root extract, to deliver a fruity drink with bittersweet citrus notes.
Consumers are continuously looking for easy, convenient drink options, especially as the number of ingredients needed to make a cocktail at home is a key barrier to purchase for many shoppers. Making shoppers’ lives easier, Aperitivo Spritz is pre-mixed and ready-to-serve no matter what the occasion. As sophisticated as traditional sparkling wine, it gives a new twist to the aperitif moment.
Jacob’s Creek Aperitivo Spritz perfectly taps into the growing trend for lower alcohol serves, containing just 8.5% ABV. With 29% of UK shoppers saying they will also be cutting back on sugar in 2018, Jacob’s Creek’s latest addition has come at a key time in the category, fulfilling a number of consumer needs.

Available in a 750ml bottle, Aperitivo Spritz is best served over ice with a slice of ruby red grapefruit or blood orange for the full aperitivo experience, or on its own. The new product will be available across grocery channels from June 2018, with an RRP of £11. The launch will be supported with PR, on-pack neck tag and in-store activations such as sampling.
